DRIFT Energy has been awarded Approval in Principle from RINA, the first ever AiP awarded for an energy-harvesting ship.
Initially announced with RINA at Seatrade Cruise Miami, the AiP recognises the leading potential of DRIFT's energy-harvesting vessels to generate and deliver green hydrogen at sea through integrated, renewable generation, storage and distribution, and paves the way for further development and build of the world’s first net positive ship.
By leveraging ocean-based energy and our advanced routing algorithm, DRIFT ships are set to support the decarbonisation of the cruise and wider maritime sector with scalable, flexible and future-ready fuel solutions.
We are delighted that DRIFT is defining the framework that such innovative vessels will be evaluated against in the future and proud of the focused effort from the design team and the wider DRIFT crew that has enabled us to achieve this major milestone.
