With a remarkable 39-year career at Air Products & Chemicals Inc, Richard brings unparalleled expertise in the industrial gases and hydrogen value chain, spanning various geographies and modes of supply.

Throughout his tenure at Air Products & Chemicals Inc, Richard excelled in diverse roles, gaining comprehensive knowledge of the industry's intricacies. He played a pivotal role in leading, developing, and implementing strategic global investment and transformation programs as a C-Suite executive business leader and Chief Information Officer.

Notably, Richard possesses extensive experience in driving large asset-based business development in the Middle East and India. His astute leadership and deep understanding of the market dynamics have consistently delivered exceptional results in these regions.

In addition to his corporate achievements, Richard holds prominent positions that reflect his commitment to education, innovation, and mentorship. He serves as the Industrial Chair of Engineering Leadership at the University of Birmingham and holds the esteemed title of Visiting Fellow to the Dean's Office at Henley Business School. Richard's involvement with the Freedom of the Worshipful Company of Engineers further exemplifies his dedication to the industry.

As a freelance consultant, Richard offers invaluable guidance to clients on critical topics such as hydrogen and the hydrogen economy, energy transition, digital transformation, sustainability, and technology innovation and commercialization. His deep passion for supporting startups is evident through his active membership in Henley Business Angels, where he invests in and champions emerging companies.
